Urmia

Urmia is one of the metropolises in Iran, a capital of West Azerbaijan province and the city of Urmia northwestern Iran, located in the Azerbaijani region. The city is the tenth most populated city in Iran and is included in the second most populous city in the northwest of Iran. Urmia is located 1332 meters high in the West Urmia lake, Sir mountain and in the plains at the plain of Urmia. Urmia in the summer is relatively warm and in winter is cold.

Urmia is more than three thousand years old and is considered to be the oldest city in the northwestern area of Iran that still remains in existence.

Iran's historic city of Urmia is registered as the 19th historical city of Iran in UNESCO. Some historians consider Urmia as the birthplace of Zarathustra. Urmia is placed on the commercial routes, it has been as customs for export and import of goods from Iran to the rest and vice versa. Also, Urmia is a place for buying and selling agricultural products made by native s and nomads around the region.
